Ubisoft's open world racer The Crew 2 has originally supposed to be released tomorrow on March 16 following its E3 2017 announcement, but it was delayed to an unspecified date in the first half of the 2018 fiscal year between April and September 2018.
However, Ubisoft has now confirmed that The Crew 2 will officially launch on June 29 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, so there's not too long to wait. This means it will release a few weeks after Onrush, which is slated to release on June 5. While The Crew 2 is perhaps being released a bit too close to Codemaster's arcade racer, Ubisoft was probably wise to release it ahead of Forza Horizon 4. While it hasn't been officially announced, Forza Horizon 4 will probably be released in early September judging from past entries and will be one of The Crew 2's main rivals since it the Forza Horizon series is also set in an open world.
Ubisoft has also announced The Crew 2 Motor Edition that lets players get the game three days early and includes the following bonus content:
- The Crew 2 Gold Edition and season pass, letting players enjoy new vehicles, outfits, additional content and much more.
- The Motorsports Deluxe Pack, which includes unique outfits and vehicles, including the Ford F-150 Raptor Race Truck 2017, Pilatus PC-21 Air Race Edition 2002 Plane and the Abarth 500 Monster Truck Edition 2008.
- A customised American The Crew 2 license plate that comes in a high-quality collector box, an exclusive Steelbook, the official Roadmap of the game and four original stickers.
Pre-ordering the game will also give players access to The Crew 2 Legendary Motors Pack, which includes exclusive vehicles such as the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Touring Car 2016 and the Harley Davidson Iron 883TM 2017.
There will also be an open beta The Crew 2, but no start date has been announced yet. For a chance to gain access, players can sign up on The Crew 2 website.
Developed by Ivory Tower, The Crew 2 is once again set in a massive open world spanning the entire USA and brings new vehicles types to the series such as planes and boats, which you can switch between instantaneously.
