When the latest update for the game dropped, eagle-eyed players noticed the ‘Forzathon’ menu icon had been replaced with a closeup of the Apollo Intensa Emozione track-focused hypercar’s front offside wheel.

Though not the first time the Apollo has been seen in a racing game (the car is already featured in mobile titles such as CSR 2), it is the Intensa Emozione’s inaugural appearance on a game released for the PC and consoles.

Potentially making the Apollo’s playable debut in Forza Motorsport 7 more imminent are the sound changes that were recently introduced to the game. According to the patch notes, the April 2019 update introduced revised audio effects for an array of high-performance engines such as the Ferrari V12. Reportedly, the Intensa Emozione’s 780 horsepower engine is derived from the 6.3-litre V12 that Ferrari used in the F12berlinetta grand tourer.

As the McLaren Senna is Forza Motorsport 7’s ‘spotlight car’ for April, it’s unlikely the Apollo will be added to Forza Motorsport 7’s car roster this month. It’s more likely the hypercar will be made available to players from May 2019 at the very earliest.

A spiritual successor to the Gumpert Apollo (a track-focused machine that long-term Forza players will likely be familiar with), the Apollo Intensa Emozione is pitched as an old school antidote to the current crop of turbocharged and hybrid supercars. The Apollo is also set to be an extremely rare speed machine: Intensa Emozione production is limited to just 10 units, and you’ll need to have at least €2.3m going spare if you want to own one.

Following on from a successful first two championships, the third F1 Esports Series will retain a similar formula to last year’s Series. In order to reach the official racing part of the contest, players will first need to qualify for the Pro Draft, where the official F1 teams will pick the drivers who’ll represent them out on the virtual track.

The scope of those stages, however, is larger this time around. Three qualifying rounds will be open from 8th April to 19th May, with each stage lasting a fortnight. Those who make it through the qualifiers will be eligible for the race-off rounds that run from 27th May to 29th May, with entrants on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One getting a platform-specific race-off to compete in.

After the race-offs comes the Pro Draft on July, shortly after the real-world F1 British Grand Prix. Following that comes the main event, the Pro Series contest, which begins in September and culminates in December. As well as being crowned the F1 Esports Series drivers’ champion for 2019, the eventual winner will earn a share of a $500,000 (roughly £380,000) prize fund.

Now no longer exclusive to Forza Horizon 4, the track-honed hypercar will be free for all FM7 players, and will likely be one of the fastest stock road cars in the game around a race track.

As well as the Senna, the update introduces a suite of tweaks to the game, ranging from audio improvements thanks to updated sound samples, to addressing bugs that were affecting Logitech G920 wheel users.

Though they won’t be available when the update goes live, new parts of the Forza Race Regulations penalty system will come to Forza Motorsport 7 later this month.

Developer Turn 10 has confirmed one of the on-the-way elements will be post-race time penalties. The studio also plans to launch public beta multiplayer hopper to test current and future Race Regulations rules in.

According to Sony, DriveClub, all of its DLC and the spin-off DriveClub Bikes and Drive Club VR games will be removed from the PlayStation Store on 31st August 2019, at 23:59pm British Summer Time.

Though DriveClub will be removed from sale, the title’s multiplayer servers will remain active for another seven months, before being decommissioned on 31st March 2020, at 23:59pm British Summer Time.

Originally scheduled to debut alongside the PlayStation 4 in November 2013, DriveClub eventually went on sale almost a year later in October 2014. Despite a rocky launch, DriveClub evolved into one of our favourite games of this generation, thanks to its extensive post-launch support and content updates.

Scheduled for release on 28th June this year, the main new feature that F1 2019 brings to the table is car customisation. For the first time ever in a console Codemasters-developed Formula One game, players will be able to apply custom liveries to their cars.

There are a few caveats, however: custom liveries are limited to pre-set designs, and they can only be applied on a generic 2019-spec Formula One car (albeit one designed by Codemasters in conjunction with the Formula One Group’s technology team) in multiplayer events.

Despite the earlier launch window, Codemasters claims F1 2019 will include “exciting new features and other firsts for the franchise“. Codemasters is currently keeping these additions a closely-guarded secret, though the developer has confirmed these features will be detailed “in the coming months“.

It’s highly likely that one of those franchise firsts will be the inclusion of Formula 2 content: at the very end of the announcement trailer, the silhouette of the Dallara-developed Formula 2 single-seater racing car can clearly be seen.

Though not stated in the announcement, it’s practically a given that all of the cars, drivers, teams and tracks from the 2019 Formula One World Championship will be included.

Legendary F1 cars from championships gone by are also expected to be included, with the single-seaters seen in prior Codemasters F1 games likely to be joined by a new-to-the-series crop of historic Grand Prix racers.

F1 2019 is currently earmarked for a 28th June 2019 release on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

Today’s update introduces the much-anticipated Dallara SF19 Super Formula cars which come in Honda and Toyota engine options.

The Dallara SF19 racing cars feature an “Overtake System” which temporarily boosts engine power to help with overtaking which should make for some interesting racing.

According to the UK motoring magazine Autocar, McLaren is working with a client to build a road-legal car derived from the Vision Gran Turismo track car that was added to Gran Turismo Sport in October 2017.

In the PlayStation 4-exclusive racing game, the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo is an extremely powerful and advanced machine. The petrol-electric hybrid powertrain produces a combined 1,150 horsepower, and the car has adjustable bodywork panels that can function as active aero parts.

According to Autocar, it’s unknown if the finished car will officially be revealed, as McLaren is letting the client decide whether the vehicle should be shown off to the public.

If McLaren is building a road-legal Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo, it won’t be the first time a Gran Turismo design study has previewed a road car. For example, the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar is partially derived from the Red Bull X-Series fictional racing cars and Aston Martin’s DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo concept car.

According to Activision, the bonus Crash Nitro Kart content will include all 13 of the game’s tracks which have been adapted to match the original 1999 Crash Team Racing experience, confused yet?

That’s not all though, Crash Nitro Kart’s remastered karts, battle arenas and battle modes will also be included making Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled a comprehensive package. As a bonus, PlayStation owners are set to receive exclusive retro content in the form of blocky character skins and karts for Crash, Coco and Cortex along with an additional retro track (expected to be revealed soon).

According to the PlayStation Blog, the retro character skins were achieved by removing the “fur shader” along with the 1024 x 1024 textures, replacing them with basic 64 x 64 and 32 x 32 textures along with a serious downscale of polygons. Available on June 21, 2019, across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch consoles, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is built from the ground up and remasters the original Crash Team Racing kart racer (released on PlayStation back in 1999) by bringing the characters, karts, tracks and arenas up to modern day standards with HD visuals.

The title will feature Adventure, Arcade Single Race, Cup Race, Time Trials and Battle Mode. There’s also support for both online and offline multiplayer action.

Players can pre-order Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled – Nitros Oxide Edition. The digital deluxe edition will feature Nitros Oxide as a playable character from day one in all game modes. Players will also receive the full Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled game, Oxide’s Hovercraft kart, space-themed character skins for Crash, Coco, Cortex, and more. Those who do not purchase the Nitros Oxide Edition can earn the Nitros Oxide character and Oxide’s Hovercraft kart by completing some of the tougher challenges in the Adventure Mode.

To get people excited for the release, the indie studio has shared an array of screenshots from the upcoming racing title across social media recently.

Some of the images give us a good look at the aftermath of various vehicle collisions which consist of lots of sparks, smashed windscreens, flying wheels, a smattering of debris and a suspiciously intact vehicle shell, check out the very latest images in the slideshow below.

Dangerous Driving is a fast-paced arcade racing game that features 30 courses set across seven different locations. Players can race offline against AI drivers in over 8 different event types including Takedown, Heatwave, Elimination, Road Rage, and Pursuit, as well as online against up to seven other players.

Dangerous Driving will release across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms on April 9, 2019. The digital version will retail for £24.99. The physical version, published by Maximum Games, bundles Three Fields’ recently released “Danger Zone 2” title as a bonus with a price point of £29.99.

Last month, Three Fields Entertainment announced Dangerous Driving will come to the PC via the Epic Games store with no mention of a Steam version to come.

A couple of months back, we learned that Dangerous Driving was delayed two months to its current release date of April 9, allowing the developer to make improvements including increasing top speeds across the board. You can get a good feel for the increased speed in the seriously rapid gameplay featured in the latest video below along with a list of features.
