Following on from our recent look at Motorhead and Super Monaco GP2, we now turn our focus to Virtua Racing on the Sega Megadrive (or Genesis depending on where you live) in our latest look at some retro racing goodness.
It may be hard to imagine now, but when Virtua Racing on the Megadrive first released, the graphics were simply mind blowing. Its great to revisit old games just to see how far we've come in terms of graphics, sounds and handling. Playing Virtual Racing proved tricky as the handling was very unpredictable, which is often the case when revisiting games from your childhood.
Playing retro games also gives us the chance to truly appreciate how life-like games of today really are. We're all guilty of moaning about very small details often in games and sometimes its best to take a moment to realise how far games have come along in a reasonably short time frame.
