Game: Carmageddon Max Damage

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Publisher: Stainless Games

Release Date: 08/07/2016

We recently learned that Carmageddon: Max Damage would be heading for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms at some point in mid 2016.

Today however developer Stainless Games announced the very day the long-running car combat title will actually release on the consoles at least: June 3 (which just happens to be the very same day a certain title called Assetto Corsa launches). So far no details on the PC launch have been announced.

Carmageddon: Max Damage will be available as a digital download and now as a boxed copy thanks to the recent partnership with Sold Out. PC players that already own Carmageddon: Reincarnation will receive a copy of Max Damage for free. Check out the new release date announcement trailer below.

Carmageddon: Max Damage will feature the usual pedestrian mowing action that was once so controversial, so expect to run over nuns, beach babes, wheelchair users and cheerleaders. There are over 30 heavily customised vehicles to choose from and the action takes place in a range of large open world environments which include city streets, arid deserts and icy wastelands among others.

The game has three game modes to get stuck into: career mode, freeplay and multiplayer, each offering a different experience. Perhaps the single most impressive element in Max Damage however has to be the number of powerups, according to Stainless Games they've managed to create over 90 of them, wow.

So mark your calendars for June 3 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch, we'll bring you details on the PC version as soon as we know more.
