The latest installment in the Asphalt mobile racing game series has been initially launched in the Philippines, ahead of a future full launch.
As with prior Asphalt titles, Asphalt 9: Legends tasks players with racing a variety of performance cars on an array of stylised locations. Though an exact number of locations wasn't disclosed by developer Gameloft, it has been confirmed that Asphalt 9: Legends contains "over 50 prestigious dream cars".
Besides the core campaign mode, which is claimed to contain "more than 800 unique events", Asphalt 9: Legends also contains a an eight-player multiplayer mode. Additionally, a Race Club is also included in Asphalt 9: Legends, with the references to player recruitment and "[competing] as a team to be the best in the world" suggesting the setup operates in a similar manner to the club systems in games such as DriveClub and pre-Xbox One Forza Motorsport games.
At the time of writing, the free-to-play Asphalt 9: Legends is only available on the iOS store in the Philippines. Estimated launch windows for other territories haven't been cited by developer Gameloft, though it has been confirmed the game will eventually be released on other iOS, Android and Windows marketplaces.
