News Rocket League releases for Xbox One

After what must seem like an age, Xbox One owners can now sample the delights of Rocket League which is now available for Microsoft's console for a fairly hefty £19.99.

The soccer meets driving game caused a stir last year when it was made available for free for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the PlayStation 4 console. Indeed not that many people knew about its predecessor Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (SSARPBC) or knew very much about Rocket League itself at the time of its launch.

I believe the lack of knowledge for the game actually worked in its favour as so many players were surprised by the addictive and competitive nature of the game along with its team play focus and super-smooth controls and all for free if you were a PS4 PlayStation Plus subscriber. To celebrate the launch on the Xbox One, Psyonix have released the obligatory trailer which can be viewed below.

Psyonix are rewarding Xbox One Rocket League players by including all three of their previously released DLC packs bundled into the £19.99 purchase for free, the three DLC packs are as follows:

  • “Supersonic Fury” – Two Premium Battle-Cars, 12 Decals, 5 Paint types, 2 Rocket Trails, 2 Wheels
  • “Revenge of the Battle-Cars” – Two Premium Battle-Cars, 12 Decals, 3 Paint types, 2 Rocket Trails, 2 Wheels, 4 Toppers, 2 Antennas
  • “Chaos Run” – Two Premium Battle-Cars, 12 Decals, 2 Wheels, 2 Rocket Trails, 3 Toppers, 3 Antennas
