The release of Ride hasn't exactly gone smoothly, and that's without even going into all the numerous delays.
Past Milestone games have often been bug-ridden on release, but Ride shipped with a pretty serious problem: a save game corrupting glitch that rendered hours of intensive racing redundant. Over two weeks later, it still hasn't been fixed.
Understandably, this has riled players, to say the least – you only have to go to Ride's FaceBook page, which is flooded with outraged comments from people demanding a patch fix.
Mercifully, a belated patch has been in the works, and is currently being "finalised and awaiting approval by the platform holders." Hopefully, then, this longstanding issue will finally be fixed next week, depending on how long it takes for the patch to be approved.
Here's what Milestone had to say about the issues:
Patches have been finalized and awaiting approval by the platform holders: we expect to provide updates within the next week.
We are concentrating on the most annoying issues for the players like stability and saves corruption. Once the patches get approved we’ll provide a detailed fix list.
Moreover, our intention is to fully support the game in the upcoming weeks and months.
Thank you for understanding.
Our PS4 review is currently in progress, but completing championships hasn't exactly been easy when you can't rely on your savegame.
