A new "Compact" release of MotoGP '14 has silently snuck onto the PSN Store, which came as a surprise considering there hasn't been any official announcements.
Retailing for £15.99 and available for PS4, PS4 and PSN as an 8GB download, along with a Steam release scheduled for November 21st, what you get is a cut-down version of MotoGP '14 stripped of its career, Real Events and Challenge the Champions odes, leaving you with the Grand Prix, Championship, Split Screen and Online Quick Race options along with all the official riders and tracks in the MotoGP 2014 category.
Milestone also released a similar Compact edition of MotoGP '13 as a result of fans requesting a more accessible version.
MotoGP '14's comprehensive career and dilligent fan service found in the extra modes were among its key selling pointsas we outlined in our review, which makes the Compact version seem a bit redundant. That said, I can see how it will appeal to a different, more casual audience who enjoy bike racing games, but aren't necessarily MotoGP fanatics and therefore wouldn't benefit from the extra features and details found in the original.
