Destruction derby racer Wreckfest has brought to a close its Season Pass programme, with the launch of the game’s eighth-to-date DLC pack.

As its name suggests, this new Banger Racing Car Pack focuses on the sort of novelty motors that wouldn’t look out of place at a local derby meet. Players with an aggressive driving style and a penchant for destruction will probably find a lot to like about the Daimler DS420-derived ‘Hearse’, though the Wreckfest dev Bugbear suggests the ‘Sweeper’ (which has more than a passing resemblance to a Mk 1 Ford Granada) will appeal to those after “a great all-rounder for every type of race”.

The third and final vehicle in the pack is a bit of a wildcard addition to Wreckfest’s car roster. Instead of a clapped-out production model, the ‘Stock Car’ is instead an all-out racing car that’s clearly inspired by the single-seater sprint cars that tear up dirt oval courses the world over.

Complementing the new cars are a pair of all-new tracks that tie in with the pack’s derby racing theme. The Mudford Motorpark is available in two appropriately muddy variations (an oval racing course and a smaller, circular demolition derby arena), and the two flavours of the Kingston Raceway consist of a paved short oval course and a part-dirt figure of eight route. Better still, both tracks are free for all Wreckfest players.

Wreckfest’s Banger Racing Car Pack is available to buy and download now from Steam, the PlayStation Store and Xbox Games Store marketplaces. Players can purchase the pack as a standalone DLC for £3.29 or their regional equivalent, with Wreckfest Season Pass owners having access to the pack straight away as part of their season pass purchase.

While the Banger Racing Car Pack officially marks the end of Wreckfest’s Season Pass programme, it seems plenty more premium content is on the way, as Bugbear has now begun referring to the Season Pass as “Season 1” of the game’s post-launch support.
