The WipEout Omega Collection now has a firm release date of June 7 after only three months since its first reveal.
Pre-orders for the title are now open on the PlayStation Store, and those that opt in will be gifted an exclusive dynamic theme (shown on right).
As the name hints, the very latest WipEout title is actually a combination of three previously released WipEout games: WipEout HD, its Fury add-on and WipEout 2048.
We previously learned that several modes will be included with Zone, Tournament, Speed Lap, Time Trial and Single Race from WipEout HD; and Zone Battle, Eliminator and Detonator modes from Fury.
However rather than splice all this content into one large game, it seems as though the Omega Collection will separate content from the three titles each having their own career mode which didn't seem to be the case when the game was first announced.
WipEout Omega Collection, features all the tracks & ships from WipEout HD, Fury and 2048 which total to an impressive tally of 26 and 46 respectively. All of this content is accessible in split-screen local multiplayer and online where up to eight players can get in on the frantic action.
WipEout will look better than ever too thanks to remastered tracks and ships which can be seen at 4K (ish) resolution on the PlayStation 4 Pro or 1080p on the PlayStation 4 with both able to run at 60 frames per second.
Along with remastered sound effects, the Omega Collection also boasts 28 licensed music tracks which feature the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Chemical Brothers and, of course, The Prodigy.
