A new image seemingly showing the rumoured V-shaped PlayStation 5 dev kit has been shared by ZONEofTECH (seen in the tweet below) lending more weight to its authenticity.
The striking shape is undoubtedly a not-so-subtle nod to the “5” in PlayStation 5 shown as the roman numeral “V”. It also reminds us of the original Xbox prototype which was quite literally an X-shaped box.

Zooming in on the supposed PlayStation 5 devkit allows you to see no less than six USB ports, a possible built-in camera, and some serious ventilation. The picture also has some additional functions that we would expect to see on a devkit.
We’ll no doubt find out very shortly if indeed this devkit design is real, and if so it’ll be interesting to see if any of its design actually carries over to the final design of the PlayStation 5 console. After all, the original Xbox did have a large “X” across it inspired by its earlier prototype design. Granted, this is seemingly a devkit rather than a prototype, however, devkits usually have no styling whatsoever so you never know.
