News Super Mario Kart set for digital re-release on Wii U on March 27

Nintendo has confirmed a digital-only version of the original Super Mario Kart game will be released on the Wii U on March 27th.
Originally an exclusive for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) back in 1992, and regarded as being the pioneer of the ever-popular kart racing genre, Super Mario Kart will be re-released on the Wii U Virtual Console digital marketplace later this March for £5.49.
A special promotion – which runs until June 30th 2014 – also means that players who purchase the re-released Super Mario Kart will also be able to net themselves a £5.49 discount on the digital version of the upcoming Mario Kart 8 game.
Mario Kart 8 has been scheduled for a Wii U-exclusive release later this year, on May 30th.
