It's official: the most watched TV show in the world is making a triumphant return to our screens this week, as a certain pokey motoring show called Top Gear reaches its 22nd series in the season premiere on Sunday January 25th. The developers of Saints Row appear to be avid admirers of Britain's best-loved car show, as a new tongue-in-cheek video promoting the recent Saints Row IV Gat Out of Hell expansion mimics the show's style to great effect.
Starring the 'Stag' in an episode of 'GatGear,' the video introduces us one of many wacky weapons available in the expansion: the Armchair-ageddon, a recliner chair with miniguns guns mounted to the armrests, allowing you to slaughter enemies and cause untold mayhem in copious comfort.
From the slick cinematography and Clarkson-esque narration, to the 'Stag' mingling with the public, this is a spot-on Top Gear spoof. And like many of the "ambitious but rubbish challenges" seen on Top Gear, Koch Media actually built a working, drivable armchair and patrolled it all around London, much to the amusement and confusion of onlookers.
