RC games have always been a mixed bag but the reveal of ‘RC Club’ by developer Abylight certainly puts an interesting take on it, combing with its Augmented Reality (AR) gameplay, the cars certainly seem to be acting in a relatively realistic way. Though it might be interesting to see how the game performs over different devices. The trailer gives an indication as to the use of physics across surface textures and lighting, screen shots below are from the iPad version.
The game allows replays to show off your gameplay skills or unique gameplay environments while the game is well suited to run across a wide range of iOS devices, though the additionof a LiDAR sensor on iPad Pro 2020 appears to give a core advantage. The game also offers three control styles, Casual, Advanced or Pro RC Control, though without a hand-on we couldn’t go into more detail on how this directly impacts gameplay. The concept appears relatively straight forward, aim at an object, place your car and away you go.
