VooFoo Studios has released their top-down retro-inspired racer Mantis Burn Racing, available now across the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.
Mantis Burn Racing bucks the trend of recent miniature racing games by excluding power ups, instead very much focusing the action on the racing itself much like we’ve seen with similar top racers of old.
You can check out the launch trailer for Mantis Burn Racing below.
“This is a game I’ve wanted to make since I got my first start in the industry with the Amiga classic, Max Rally” Said Mark Williams, Technology Director at VooFoo Studios. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response from fans who have enthusiastically shared their love of the genre with us and always instantly connect with the fun, modern game play of Mantis Burn Racing, we can’t wait to see you all out on the tracks!”.
The old-school inspired racer features a fairly substantial career mode which is split into seven tiers. Vehicles are fully customisable with upgrade parts that can be unlocked through out the career mode and come in three different categories each with their own advantages and disadvantages.
The game features eight different game modes and includes support for 4 player local co op and eight can get in on the action online. Furthermore, Mantis Burn Racing boasts full native 4K support on the PlayStation Pro at 60fps.
We are currently working on the review for Mantis Burn Racing which will be up on the site soon, you can also look forward to a gameplay video on the title very shortly.
