The FIA-certified Gran Turismo Championships “Nations Cup Final” tournament to determine the world’s top Gran Turismo Sport drivers culminated last weekend at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort in Monaco.

After four rounds of intense action, Igor Fraga, 20, from Brazil, became the first ever Nations Cup Champion.

Fraga, started with a 10-point lead from the semi-final, and achieved a pole-to-win on the 1st race at the ‘Tokyo Expressway – South Inner Loop’. Tomoaki Yamanaka, representing Japan, managed to win a one on one battle against Fraga at the ‘Autodromo de Interlagos’ to reduce his lead to just 3 points to keep things interesting.

The 3rd race featuring the ‘Autodromo Nazionale Monza No Chicane’ track saw Fraga’s hard tyre strategy not work out. Once again, Yamanaka managed to win the race, with Fraga having to settle for tenth in the standings.

This all lead to the final battle of a 9-lap race on the ‘Circuit de la Sarthe’, where double points were up for grabs. Fraga managed to gain position after position after starting tenth on the grid and eventually caught up to and overtook Yamanaka and race leader Hizal to secure the win and 24 points which saw him jump to the top of the final standings and crowned the first ever Nations Cup Champion.

You can watch all the action from all four races unfold in the video below.
