Developer Tate Multimedia has today released the first-ever gameplay trailer for their upcoming motorbike combat racer Steel Rats.
The trailer reveals a title which will draw obvious comparisons to the trials series thanks to the action which largely runs on a 2D plane in 3D environments (however, we can see the bike deviate from a 2D path on numerous occasions (so more 2.5D then?)), as well as its stunt-based gameplay.
You can take a look at the explosive action in the gameplay trailer below.
Steel Rats is expected to release later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and is playable for the first time ever at PAX East this weekend in Boston. Steel Rats has impressed already and has taken home the Game Connection Development Award for ‘Best Gameplay’ during GDC week.
Steel Rats puts you into the shoes of a punk bike gang member in a retro-future world where explosive motorbike combat is the norm. The title features a number of unique characters and special abilities can be unlocked along the way.
Steel Rats can be found at PAX East in Boston, USA from April 5th-8th in the main Expo Hall Booth # 21010. You can view the original announcement trailer from last year below.
