Codemasters' F1 Race Stars, a Mario Kart-style spin-off to their fabled F1 franchise featuring cartoon caricature race drivers with big heads about the size of Lewis Hamilton's ego, is about to get a new release on Wii U packed with extra content and console-specific features.
Called F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition, the new release adds four extra tracks and nine extra accessory packs, bringing the total number of exaggerated takes on the real world tracks up to 15.
To make itself at home on Wii U, F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition will fully support Wii U GamePad tilt controls, and you'll also be able to race as your cutesy Mii avatar
Unlike F1 2013, F1 Race Stars hasn't been updated to reflect this year's line-up of teams and drivers – Lewis Hamilton will still be with McLaren, and Schumacher with Mercedes.
F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition will launch exclusively as a digital download on the Nintendo eShop in December, although no price has been announced.
It's good to see Codemasters resist lazily porting over the exact same game we played last year, though they're probably counting their blessings that Mario Kart 8 won't be ready until next Spring.
