DriveClub's v1.12 has deployed, bringing with it a host of new note-worthy additions to Evolution's ever-expanding PS4 racer. Chief new feature is of course the addition of replays – a belated feature that should be standard in most racing games, perhaps, but it does allow you to marvel at DriveClub's graphical prowess from a whole new perspective. Indeed, after watching a replay, you'll now have new-found appreciation of the stunning scale found in the environments.
As demonstrated in the video below, which gives us an early peek at this month's free car offering, the Peugeot Onyx concept, there are a myriad of camera options available: Trackside, Gameplay and Vehicle. Clearly, Evolution haven't approached this halfheartedly.
How you view a replay is entirely up to you. You can watch an entire replay with one of the aforementioned fix cameras, or switch between them at will. Alternatively, select the replay option and DriveClub will switch between them dynamically, if you're feeling lazy.
Best of all, you can pause the action and switch to DriveClub's advanced photo mode to get that perfect signature shot.
Up to 50 replays can be saved – each slot can hold a replay equal to or less than 15 minutes.
Other improvements in the v1.12 update include refinements to the Drift mode, new graphical improvements and the ability to unlock the Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione for elite players who managed to get to rank 50. You can read up on the complete changelog here.
Next week will also see the release of the Lamborghini expansion pack which will mark the manufacturers long-awaited debut in DriveClub, adding five Lambos to the roster.
We'll be looking at DriveClub's replays in greater detail in our upcoming video content. And yes, you can also expect our belated review on this very site soon as well, for those that are asking.
