The self-produced indie kart racing title KartSim has officially passed the Steam Greenlight process.

Having first entered the Greenlight phase approximately two weeks ago, KartSim is now ready to enter the next step on the road to the title’s eventual commercial release.

According to the official statement, Zach Griffin – the creator and sole developer of KartSim – has confirmed more details regarding the game’s future availability will be announced “in the coming days”.

Griffin has also revealed the initial content which will feature in KartSim: five laser scanned tracks, five different kart types, full AI integration and a multiplayer mode. More content will also be added to KartSim as it progresses through the upcoming Early Access phase.

KartSim is an in-the-works PC simulation title which aims to provide one of the most in-depth and realistic representations of kart racing in a driving game, with even the chassis flex being calculated by the custom-built physics engine.

No definitive release date has been cited so far, though KartSim is expected to be made available to buy – according to the Steam listing – sometime in mid 2014.
