Project CARS enlists Pagani

While we've been busy salviating over the May Community Pack for Project CARS, Slightly Mad Studios have announced a calloboration with Italian hypercar-maker Pagani which will see three variations of the Zonda  appear in the game with the same exuberant attention to detail we've come to expect.

First up is the Zonda R, a racecar built for the track that acts as Pagani's sendoff for the long-running Zonda line. Coupled with its 6 litre, 750bhp engine that delivers a 0-60 time of just 2.7 seconds and the fact it weighs next to nothing having been built predominately from titanium and carbon fibre, the Zonda R is a force to be reckoned with that will no doubt appease any track racer.

Meanwhile, the road-going Zonda Cinque also joins the roster, a car that's notable for its rarity - as the name implies, only five were ever built, each sold for a million Euros. It also makes for a pretty good police car in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.

Lastly, the preposterously-pronounced Huayra will also be playable, which acts as the V12 successor to the Zonda. It was previously exclusive to EA's Shift 2: Unleashed until it was finally brought out as DLC for Forza Motorsport 4. Interestingly, all three cars will also be available to drive in a free download from Pagani.

Horacio Pagani, founder and chief designer at Pagani Automobili commented “A simulation like Project CARS will give enthusiasts all over the world the opportunity to experience the unique driving feel of a Pagani. With the support of our technical partners Mercedes-AMG, Brembo and Pirelli , our engineers are working closely with the physics engine developers to create the most realistic experience possible.”

CARS is getting better with each build. The Zonda is a worthy addition although its physics are very much a WIP, much like the rest of the game.

Very excited to see how CARS ends up - SMS have hinted CARS will be a more realistic Forza or GT which is fine by me.
