News Captain back at the helm

Back from a hiatus, it was time to take a break from video production. Taking the time to focus on other projects and giving the opportunity for a step back out of the daily YouTube grind. A grand that can devour the soul in its relentless pursuit of views, likes and comments. That dopamine hit of work satisfaction gradually flowing always and at this point a content creator needs to find something new. In my case it’s a different perspective.

Video game development has evolved in recent years. The biggest AAA titles now require huge dev teams, increased layers of management and that creates whole new industries of bureaucracy. While investors keenly await their returns, always hoping to have struck gold on the next big thing.

What have I learnt? Well, that’s a book for another time. Suffice to say we’re going through a transitional phase, a dry patch in terms of creativity and there is no sing of that ending any time soon. So, unlike the past, I’m going to be more selective in what I cover. I’m going to focus on the games and conversations that interest me and steer this ship into the storm, its rough seas ahead, but we’ve been here before, we’ve always made it through, and we’ll make it again.
