A new alpha update has been released for Road Redemption, a spiritual successor to Road Rash from indie developer Dark Seas Games, adding split screen support for 2 – 4 players along with many other new features and enhancements.
While the previous build could only be played with an Xbox 360 controller, full mouse and keyboard has now been added. Combat has also been enhanced, as you can now deflect and disarm attackers. Three new biker-bruising weapons have been added (nail bat, pipe bomb, C4, police baton), along with new levels, mission types (takedown and survival), a new HUD and cops, who will pursue you on police bikes.
Commemorating the update is a new action-packed trailer, which illustrates what Road Redemption is all about in 96 seconds of biker-bashing gameplay.

From the trailer, Road Redemption still looks a little rough around the edges, but you can't deny it captures the old-school spirit of Road Rash rather well. Indeed, the combat certainly seems to have evolved with new attacks, defenses and crazy weapons, which should make for some intense road battles whilst weaving through traffic and dodging the carnage.
How can you not love a game that lets you strap explosives to rival riders and detonate them into oblivion? Sadistic, yet addictive.
