Real Racing 3 has garnered a lot of attention for its astonishing console quality graphics in a mobile game, but the focus has primarily been on the detailed car models. While Ford and Nissan have now been added to the list of confirmed manufacturers alongside Porsche, this new developer diary from the fine folk at FireMonkeys sets out to prove that a similar amount of effort has been put into recreating the real world race tracks in Real Racing 3.

We already knew that Laguna Seca will be in the game, but the developer diary now also confirms that the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the legendary Mount Panorama in Bathurst will be among the tracks featured in Real Racing 3. Famous for hosting the Bathurst 12 hour race, it's a terrifyingly twisty, high altitude track that is, surprisingly, seldom seen in racing games – Shift 2: Unleashed is the only recent games that springs to mind, along with the upcoming Project CARS and Polyphony were spotted scanning the track last year most likely for GT6.

It seems the short delay until February was worth it, then, as Real Racing 3 is shaping up to be something very special indeed with the potential to become the flagship racing title for mobile devices. The fact a developer diary series even exists for a mobile racing game signifies Real Racing 3's significance, as they are normally reserved for triple A titles such as Forza Horizon and Codemasters' F1 series.
