It's all been a bit doom and gloom for Driveclub lately with on-going delays and redundancies, so it makes a change to report on something positive relating to Evolution's social-centric PS4 racer.
DriveClub's Game Director Paul Rustchynsky has responded to a number of fan queries on Twitter to clarify a few details.
First up, that most frequently asked question: when is DriveClub finally going to be released? Well, we still don't know, but Rustchynsky did at least clarify that DriveClub is still on track for release this year, which is reassuring to skeptics who were worried that DriveClub had been canned.
@Megasoum Still coming 2014, unfortunately I can't share any more.

He went on to clarify that the alleged leak pointing to an April release was not from an official source:
@Serginho44 The tweet you refer to certainly wasn't from an official source.

Regarding micro-transactions, that most hateful of subjects that seems to be plaguing current releases, he clarified that, while there will be additional content available to purchase in DriveClub, there won't be any consumable boosts:
To be clear on microtransactions, DRIVECLUB will of course offer content to purchase/download. But there will not be any 'consumables'.

Finally, he clarified that DriveClub will have wheel support for the Thrustmaster T80 DriveClub Edition (obviously) and the T500RS, but couldn't comment on other manufacturers.
@Megasoum At this stage I can only confirm what we have already announced. The Thrustmaster T80 & T500RS.
