The Polymega was revealed last week, I’ve added my initial thoughts in an article https://www.teamvvv.com/news/polymega-reveals-25-minutes-of-sega-saturn-footage-including-sega-rally/. What have been your impressions so far? Is it a retro console you are looking forward to, or perhaps too good to be true?

The fact the base unit is the CD-ROM systems is of huge appeal to me. The CD-ROM era is one that is particularly close to my heart – and also dangerous to revisit. The lasers on my old systems are starting to die off – and they aren’t all particularly easy to emulate.

I’d be tempted to go in on the case unit just for that reason alone, then consider getting the addons later for cart games.

Wow, really didn’t expect to see a digital library towards the end of the trailer, certainly interested in this, what price point are we talking here?

What they have showed looks absolutely fantastic, although the direct capture + 30FPS capture arouses some slight suspicion. I think the trouble is that the retro gaming community have been burned so many times over that they are rightfully cautious.

I’m really hoping this device is everything it’s claiming up to be.
