Navigating the treacherous terrain of a rally stage provides some of the most challenging conditions a driver could possibly face – knowing that the slightest mistake can result in your car becoming wrapped around a tree is what makes rallying so edge-of-your-seat enthralling after-all. But navigating a special stage at night with reduced visibility? That's just sucidal.
It's surprising, then, that recent games in the WRC series haven't let you tackle stages shrouded in darkness. Maybe Milestone were conscious of the added difficulty night time conditions would bring or were simply restricted by technical limitations, but the lack of night time rallying in any of their four WRC entries was perplexing when you could do it in the original Colin McRae Rally 1998. WRC 4 at least added additional time of day conditions, but you still couldn't set the time beyond dusk.
Fear not however, as Kylotonn Games has revealed that, for the first time in the current WRC game series, WRC 5 will feature night stages, as showcased in a collage of screenshots.
Are you up for the challenge of night time rallying in WRC 5?
