Indie developer and publisher Zordix AB, who have mainly focused on Nintendo titles in the past, have announced that their upcoming water-based racing title Aqua Moto Racing Utopia (announced previously for the Wii U) will also be heading to the Playstation 4 console.

To accompany the announcement, Zordix have released a new gameplay preview trailer which can be seen below.

Looking at the action above it becomes very obvious that Zordix have taken inspiration from the awesome Wave Race 64 from 1996 with its bright and vibrant colours and graphics. Seeing the ocean floor's rocks and coral through the transparent water looks impressive and overall the game appears like it could be a lot of fun with that quintessential arcade vibe to it.

Zordix have so far confirmed the game will feature online and split screen game modes, along with single player championships and a free ride leisure mode. The single player experience will be split into two segments, one each for the runabout and jet ski vehicles. Aqua Moto Racing Utopia will reward you with speed boosts for completing tricks off of ramps, there's also short cuts to look out for too.

Winning races will earn you cash which can be used to purchase new vehicles to progress through the game's career mode. Each vehicle has advantages and disadvantages so its pays to know which vehicle suits which track in order to more easily make your way through the game's many races.

No release date has yet been announced for Aqua Moto Racing Utopia. We'll bring you more on this arcade water-based racer as soon as we know more. Lets us know what you amke of the game so far and whether you've played any Wave Race titles previously.
