News Vehicle combat MOBA Heavy Metal Machines releases

Heavy Metal Machines, the free-to-play post-apocalyptic vehicle combat game, has launched out of open beta with the full version now available on Steam.

Heavy Metal Machines sees two teams of four battle across a number of deadly arenas. Competitors race to pick up a bomb to score and ultimately destroy their opponent’s base. The vehicular combat title features 14 different characters, each with their own vehicle of death, unique abilities, and powers. You can view the launch trailer below.

The new season-based progression system, ‘Metal Pass’, has been integrated for the launch and offers players an array of missions and rewards across 50 different levels. Completing the tasks at hand enables players to obtain new characters, skins, in-game currency, portraits, XP boosts, and more across two different tracks: one free and the other premium, offering “more quests and bigger rewards”.

“Years of hard work from a very talented team has led us to the release of Heavy Metal Machines,” said Rodrigo Campo, CEO of Hoplon. “We are very excited to ‘turn the switch’ and officially launch our game, which we hope brings innovation and something unique to the free-to-play and esports scene.”

Since launching into Steam Early Access last year, Heavy Metal Machines has been downloaded more than 800,000 times. The open beta period has seen developer Hoplon add two new arenas, increase the roster of characters and vehicles, bring dedicated North American servers, and set up competitive cash prize tournaments across the world.
