Trials Fusion has received its first major update, which adds online tournaments to the experience. Sadly, this isn't the much-anticipated head-to-head online multiplayer update we were promised in post-release – the tournaments run in asynchronous multiplayer. Looks like you'll have to make do with local multiplayer the old fashioned way for a little while longer.
Each tournament will run for a limited time, consisting of three events where the aim is to achieve the fastest combined time. The higher your score on the leaderboard, the more prizes you'll earn such as gear, bike parts, in-game cash and experience points. 10 cross-platform player-created tracks have also been added into the mix.
In addition to the yet-to-to-be-released online multiplayer update, Ubisoft has big plans for Trials Fusion's post-release support, as six DLC packs are due within the next year. The first will apparently be released sometime in the Summer. Exact details have yet to be disclosed, but the extra content will include new gear, bikes, tracks and items for the track editor along with a new career mode.
If you're still on the fence about Trials Fusion, Ubisoft has also now released a playable demo for Xbox One.
