Game: TrackMania Turbo

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Publisher: Ubisoft

Release Date: 22/03/2016

Trackmania Turbo has been doing the rounds in an invite-only closed beta for the last few weeks, but now an open beta is available right now for everyone to download on PS4 and Xbox One, giving players a chance to preview Ubisoft's upcoming arcade racer ahead of its release next Friday. You may want to act fast, though, as the open beta will end on Monday 21st 1pm UK time.

Trackmania Turbo's open beta lets you access a handful of tracks in the game's four main distinctive environments to set the fastest time: Rollercoaster Lagoon, International Stadium, Canyon Grand Drift, and Down & Dirty Valley. Alternatively, if you don't fancy premade tracks, the beta also lets you access Trackmania Turbo's powerful trackbuilder tool as well as onlne multiplayer. High scores and tracks created in the beta will be transferred to the final release.

Trackmania Turbo is the definition of "easy to learn but hard to master", challenging you to test your skills in 200 head-spinning tracks in the main campaign or create and share your own crazy courses using the Trackbuilder. Trackmania Turbo marks the first time the series has been brought to consoles since Trackmania Wii in 2009, bringing a new art style inspired by racing culture and '90s arcade racing games.

Trackmania Turbo will be released March 21st for PS4, Xbox One and PC. From what we've seen so far, Trackmania Turbo is shaping up to be a worthy alternative to the more serious racing games released as of late thanks to its addictive arcade gameplay, versatile track creation tools and modest price. Plus being dropped by a helicopter at the start of each stage never gets old.
