News Top-down racer Mantis Burn Racing is coming to Nintendo Switch

Mantis Burn Racing was one of our favourite indie racers released last year thanks predominately to its excellent handling that made the game so fun and addictive, earning it a nomination in the 2017 Team VVV Racing Game Awards for Best Indie Racing Game and Best Handling.

Its top-down racing seemed well suited to handheld formats much like MotorStorm RC on the PlayStation Vita, but the game wasn’t granted a release on any mobile platforms, sadly. That’s about to change, however, as developer VooFoo Studios has announced that Mantis Burn Racing is heading to the Nintendo Switch very soon.

“Mantis Burn Racing’s addictive pick-up-and-play style game play has already been very well received on PS4, Xbox One and Steam” said Mark Williams, Technology Director at VooFoo Studios. “The game’s broad appeal and addictive couch multiplayer make it a great fit for the Nintendo audience and we can’t wait to give Switch players the chance to play the definitive version of the game at home or on the move”.

Mantis Burn Racing features five distinct car classes, a lengthy career mode spanning 11 seasons, and a deep RPG-style upgrade system. The Nintendo Switch version will also include the Battle Cars, Elite Class vehicles and Snowbound tracks previously released as downloadable content.

There’s also four player split screen, which will be ideal for the Nintendo Switch console as players can enjoy local multiplayer out of the box using the detachable Joy-Con controllers.
