Thrustmaster has today revealed its latest high-end PC racing wheel known as the TS-PC Racer.

The new racing wheel incorporates the very latest in technology with Thrusmaster's very first “open wheel” design. This unique design will enable players to receive the greatest level of feedback and sensations which should make for the best experience yet found with a Thrustmaster product.

The TS-PC racing wheel has a new 40-watt brushless motor which delivers serious amounts of torque along with dynamic force feedback. A powerful motor such as this requires a sophisticated cooling system. Thrustmaster have therefore installed their “Motor Cooling Embeded” (MCE) system which maintains the wheel's level of performance by keeping temperatures down to a minimum all while keeping silent, very impressive you could say.

Furthermore the new “Field Oriented Control” (F.O.C.) algorithm gives Thrustmater's H.E.A.R.T. (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) a boost in precision which now boasts 16-bit resolution which equals 65,536 values no less.

All of this technology requires power and Thrusmtaster have designed an external “Turbo” power supply for the TS-PC Racer which provides a fairly hefty 400 watts of power.

The wheel itself features six central buttons and a 3-position rotary selector complete with a push function. The rotation angles can be adjusted through 270-1080 degrees and the wheel's grips are lovingly covered with suede. The wheel-mounted sequential paddle shifters are made from polished-brushed aluminum which helps to give the TS-PC Racer that all-important premium feel.

The TS-PC Racer wheel is fully compatible with Thrustmaster's racing “ecosystem” meaning you can mix and match any product you wish. For example you can swap out the rim for the likes of the Ferrari F1 wheel or the TM Leather 28 GT wheel along with using peripherals such as the TH8RS and TH8A shifters and not to forget the T3PA and T3PA-Pro pedal sets. Furthermore, Thrustmaster have stated that you can use other USB pedal sets, or pedals sets equipped with a DB9 connector via the Thrustmaster DB9 pedals T.RJ12 adapter.

The Thrustmaster TS-PC Racer racing wheel will be available from December 5 and has a suggested retail price of £499.99. Let us know in the comments what you make of the wheel and if you are considering a purchase.
