Game: The Crew

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Publisher: Ubisoft

Release Date: 01/12/2014

Today marks the launch of the “Calling All Units” expansion for The Crew available across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.

I say PlayStation 4 but this is not the case…yet. Initially the add-on was supposed to launch at 1pm BST but was delayed first to 4pm and then 5pm. The Xbox One version did launch at 5pm GMT, however the PC and PlayStation 4 version underwent additional tinkering. The PC has been made available at around 9pm today and we're still waiting on the PS4 version which should come later tonight [Edit: The PlayStation 4 version launched finally at 10pm on November 29].

The new expansion adds some new storyline to the game and introduces elite cop Clara Washington and 12 new missions where you'll be driving fully-equipped police vehicles. Playing as the Police grants you a wide range of vehicles, from exotic supercars to heavy off-roaders and even monster trucks which should make for some interesting moments.

In the Calling All Units chase mode players will get the chance to play as either police officers or street racers as as they battle it out in team of four. Whichever side you choose, you will be granted several special abilities to take out your opponents. These range from EMP blasts and speed hacks to flashbangs which reduce your opponents control, grip levels, acceleration and more.

Additionally, all The Crew players will have complete access to the street racer gameplay, including all special abilities and the new level 60 cap and the matching performance boost.

The Crew Ultimate Edition is also available as of today for Xbox One, PC and Playstation 4. It includes the base game, the Wild Run and Calling All Units expansions as well as the Season Pass vehicles.
