We continue our preview footage with the full version of The Crew: Wild Run by trying our hand at some drifting in rainy conditions.
The game is running on a PC but is simulating what console owners can expect to see, also we are also using a controller for this preview. We take part in some drift events at night in the pouring rain.
We found the drifting in the default handling mode was easy, until we changed to hardcore mode, where we really struggled to say the least. We felt that when in hardcore mode the back end of the car would step out too easily and proved impossible to keep in check.
One complaint we did have was with the level of detail (or LOD) with various objects in the environment such as tress and buildings. We found that the LOD would change when we were very close to the object and so it was very noticeable as the detail on the object would suddenly pop in.
