Game: Trials Evolution

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Publisher: Ubisoft

Release Date: 18/04/2012

It's official: the apocalypse is happening this December…in Trials Evolution at least.

Yes, RedLynx is already about to dish out more DLC for Trials Evolution not long after the excellent Origin of Pain DLC pack. Dubbed as 'Riders of Doom', this second pack follows a very similar structure to Origin of Pain, bringing 40 new tracks set on the apocalyptic wasteland of the Big Sand Lands, along with 10 new skill games, literally hundreds of new track editor objects and, in direct contrast to Origin of Pain's push-bike, a new powerful Banshee bike to ride over the ruins.

Other than that, we have very little to go on, to be honest: we know it will retail for a modest 400 MS points but don't have a solid release date other than sometime in December. Presumably, it will be out before December 21st, i.e the the 'official' date of the apocalypse. so we're hopefully talking within a couple of weeks. The announcement trailer isn't too revealing, either, offering sneak peeks at a handful of tracks and a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of the Banshee bike:

Nevertheless, we're pleased to see an increase in the number of skill games included, one of our biggest gripes in our  Origin of Pain review, and we're loving the idea of the Doomsday theme and the possibilities it could bring for dynamic scenery that's been hinted at in previous maps but never fully realised – think MotorStorm Apocalypse for bikes.

If it helps the time pass faster in order to play Riders of Doom, then the end of the world can't come soon enough.
