News The 1500bhp Koenigsegg Regera debuts in DriveClub

Last month we reported that the Koenigsegg Regera was going to feature in a future racing game. As we predicted, that game is DriveClub – and you can drive the savage Sweedish supercar now. 

Evolution confirmed that the Regera will debut in DriveClub as part of an upcoming Finish Line DLC expansion coming later this month on March 22nd, which will also feature the Jaguar XJ220.

What they didn't mention, however, is that you can actually take the Regera for a spin in DriveClub right now ahead of its official release – providing you already own the Downforce or Elements expansion packs, which were part of the season pass. The Regera appears as a selectable supercar in the 'Sweeden's Finest' event in the Downforce Tour and the 'Elements Trophy' event in the Elements Tour.

The production-spec Koenigsegg Regera was unveiled at this month's Geneva Motorshow, and the specs speak for themselves: the hybrid Regera has 1500bhp, with a top speed of 248mph. It can reach 0 -62mph in 2.8 seconds, 0 – 182mph in 10.9 seconds and 0 – 242mph in 20 seconds. Its also lighter and more powerful than its closest rival, the Bugati Chiron.  In summary, it's the fastest car in the world, as Jeremy Clarkson would say.

While the Koenigsegg Regera has already been available in the hit mobile game Real Racing 3 since last year, DriveClub is the first console racing game to feature Koenigsegg's hybrid. Despite the lack of manual gears, the the Regera is a bit of a handful to drive to say the least, so we advise to be gentle with your inputs unless you want to slam into the nearest wall.
