We recently met up with Territory Studio, who have applied their special effects expertise in movies into the videogame world, most recently working on behemoth titles such as Forza Motorsport 6 and this year's Need for Speed reboot.

We chat with Creative Director and founder David Sheldon-Hicks and Art Director Marti Romances from Territory Studios and ask them some questions regarding the origin of the studio and how they applied their knowledge with working on film into the videogame medium

We get a brief insight into the collaboration between Territory Studios and Turn 10 Studios when they were tasked with working on Forza Motorsport 6's user interface and HUD elements. The team went with two different designs for the game's interface and Turn 10 Studios actually choose the design which was least like the one previously found in Forza titles much to the surprise of Territory Studios.

We then move the discussion from Forza Motorsport 6 onto Need for Speed where once again Territory were working on menu systems and interface. Both of which were inspired chiefly by Need for Speed's lighting system and mood.
