Welcome to another installment of the Team VVV Video Podcast for all your weekly racing game rambles.
In our latest podcast, Project CARS 2 is once again on our radar following the recent reveal of its substantial rallycross content that will pit it directly against DiRT 4. While we could all agree that the trailer effectively conveyed the intensity of the rallycross sport, let's just say we couldn't all agree on the choice of music.
It's hard to get enthusiastic about Porsche packs when there have been so many released for Assetto Corsa in recent months, but nevertheless, the introduction of Porsche in Gran Turismo Sport is a significant milestone, representing hte the first time the manufacturer has appeared in a Gran Turismo game thanks to EA's exclusivity license expiring. Speaking of Porsche, seven were also recently added to Forza Horizon 3 in a new Porsche Pack as part of a multi-project partnership.
Elsewhere, Ed recently got his hands on Urban Trial Freestyle 2 for the Nintendo 3DS which is effectively the platform's answer to Trials and gives his first impressions. We were also surprised to learn that FlatOut 4 will be getting wheel support in its new Steam release, and snowmobile racing has also had a resurgence with the indie release of Snow Moto Racing Freedom.
This year also promises to be a great year for car movie fans with the release of The Fast and the Furious 8 and Cars 3, both of which are getting obligatory video game tie-ins. Cars 3 is getting its own standalone game and while our expectations aren't very high, it's notable for being possibly the last ever racing game released on the Wii U and PS3. Rocket League fans, on the other hand, can now drive Dom's "Dodge Ice Charger" from the Fast and Furious 8 film.
Thanks as always for listening, and be sure to keep sending us your questions for the weekly Q&A.
