With Forza Motorsport 6, WRC 5 and Need for Speed all vying for our attention between now and the end of the year, the final quarter of 2015 promises to be a busy period for racing gamers. And yet there’s still some you may have overlooked that deserve to be added to that list.
Playrise Digital’s upcoming Table Top Racing: World Tour is one such game. It’s the first direct sequel to the ever-popular Table Top Racing which we had a lot of fun with on the Vita last year, and looks to expand on its predecessor in every way by bringing its winning formula of accessible top-down racing to a wider audience on PS4 later this year.
Playrise Digital have been slowly drip feeding us new content so far. As work on the game has progressed throughout the last few months, we’ve been short on news regarding Table Top Racing: World Tour, but we now finally have some new screenshots to share that reveal a quirky new track.
All we can say is that the developers must be very partial to a YO! Sushi, because the new track is themed around a YO! Sushi restaurant.
“We love sushi at Playrise and lunchtimes at Liverpool One’s ‘YO! Sushi’ branch have become a regular treat for the Playrise team.” commented Nick Burcombe CEO, Playrise Digital, “In the first ‘Table Top Racing’ game (iOS, Android and Vita), we created a more traditional style oriental themed circuit which turned out to be a firm favourite with gamers. For ‘Table Top Racing: World Tour’ we wanted to take this theme to the next level in terms of design, interactivity and sheer visual fun which makes YO! Sushi and their unique style a perfect fit!”
Hopefully this means the tracks will be more dynamic in Table Top Racing: World Tour – the lack of interactivity in the circuits was one of our main criticisms of the original game.
“We’re so excited to be part of Table Top Racing: World Tour by Playrise” commented Liz Norris of YO! Sushi “The circuit they’ve been creating really brings the spirit of YO! Sushi to life, it’s amazing how they’ve managed to capture it in the game! We can’t wait to give the final version a spin!“
Table Top Racing: World Tour will be toying with the PS4 this Winter, with other platforms to follow.
Has the Yo Sushi tie-in made you hungry for Table Top Racing: World Tour?
