We have been patiently awaiting the official announcement for Project CARS 3 for some time now, however, we’re glad to report that the wait is now over. Slightly Mad Studios (now working under Codemasters) has released a reveal trailer for the much-anticipated racing sim which gives us the very surprising release window of summer 2020, yes we were shocked too.
Of course, this means we’ll be playing the racing title on current generation hardware – the game has been confirmed for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
Details are limited but according to the official Project CARS Twitter the new addition to the franchise will feature a far deeper career mode experience, enabling players to ‘own, upgrade and customise elite-brand cars, personalise your racing hero and battle your way up from weekend warrior to racing legend’
All sounds interesting, let’s take a look at the new trailer.
The trailer certainly doesn’t give much away, curiously there were no open-wheel cars and not a great deal of range featured. Visually it gave more of a GRID vibe, seemingly some details had been scaled-down compared to the previous titles and it does result in more of a Need For Speed Shift style than a classic Project CARS motorsport approach.
No doubt the proof will be in the pudding and we’ll learn more about other car classes and range of features as we get closer to launch. A range of screenshots has also been released which we’ve added below.
