News Rumour: Micro Machines World Series coming to PC, PS4 & Xbox One

If the rumours are true, it looks like Codemasters are once again going to bring everybody's favourite top down racer to the masses.
Going by the title “Micro Machines World Series”, it will resuscitate the long dormant series which is rumoured to release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
No details are known about the title as it hasn't been officially confirmed by Codemasters, however there is a promotional image and Xbox One box art to gander over.
For the very last installment from the main Micro Machines series you have to go all the way back to 2006's Micro Machines V4 which released on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS and PC. Over ten years have passed since then so I think we are well overdue another title in the series.
Of course It's worth mentioning that Codemasters did release Toybox Turbos in 2014 which shared a number of similarities with the king of top down racers to put it mildly.
