Rocket League has been a monumental success on PS4, thanks to its debut as a free PS Plus download giving it a readymade fanbase. It comes as no surprise, then, to find that Psychnix is already preparing its first DLC release.

Called Supersonic Fury, the DLC pack will add two additional battle cars with the Dominus and the Takumi – the former being a US muscle car modelled after what looks like a Pontiac GTO and the latter being a souped-up Japanese car unmistakably representing a Subaru Impreza. Each car will come with six new garage customisation decals.

In addition, Supersonic Fury will add two new Rocket Boosts (“Nitrous” and “Burnout”), two new Wheel sets (the soccer ball-themed “Cristiano” and the  “Spinner” set), five all-new Paint Types (“Brushed Metal,” “Carbon Fiber,” “Metallic Pearl,” “Pearlescent,” and “Wood” and some new trophies.

My only gripe is that Rocket League's cars tend to handle very similarly, so the only variety the new cars will probably add will be purely cosmetic.

Supersonic Fury will be available in early August retailing for £3.99/$3.99.

Factor in the upcoming free update that will add Rocket League's first new map, 70 new country maps, a long-awaited Spectator mode and upated Goal explosions and Demolitions, and there's a considerable wealth of new content to keep us interested in Rocket League now that the honeymoon period is over.

Are you still enjoying Rocket League or has the novelty started to wear off?
