News Reiza Studios reveals Automobilista 2 ahead of December 2019 release

The Brazilian sim developer Reiza Studios has pulled the wraps off its latest project: Automobilista 2.

As its name suggests, Automobilista 2 is a sequel to the original Automobilista title from 2016; retaining its predecessor’s emphasis on showcasing Brazilian motor racing.

While “all major Brazilian racing series, race tracks and manufacturers” will be represented in Automobilista 2, Reiza says its upcoming sim’s contents won’t be purely limited to South America in origin. The studio claims it’s secured the rights to feature cars from “prestigious brands” such as BMW and McLaren in the title, and Automobilista 2’s track roster will include venues like Brands Hatch and Imola.

Automobilista 2 is also alleged to be a more advanced under the hood than the previous game, in part thanks to the Madness engine it has access to as a result of Reiza’s technical partnership with Slightly Mad Studios. According to the developers, the Madness underpinnings will allow Automobilista 2 to feature “incredible graphical quality, the most advanced dynamic weather and track condition systems in a racing simulator and superior VR support“.

Automobilista 2 players will be able to take part in solo and online racing in the game, with “exclusive features” being available for the singleplayer and multiplayer modes. More details on what these are will be revealed at a later date.

Reiza Studios hasn’t given a specific release date for Automobilista 2, other than saying the racing sim will be launched sometime in December 2019.
