With the recent release of the Racing Icons Pack for Project CARS, and the with Le Mans 24 hours taking place, we thought it fitting to take one of the Racing Icon Pack cars around the famous Le Mans circuit.
Alan drives the 2003 Bentley Speed 8, which won the famous Le Mans 24 hour race, around the Circuit de la Sarthe using the cockpit cam with the AI set to 80% difficulty. The footage is of the PC version using our triple-screen setup and the time of day has been speed up which will show you the daytime descend into darkness over the race's duration.
Alan talks about the ease in which you can 'zone-out' in long races and that you really need to concentrate on the here and now. Think of your next braking point, which gear you need to be in and anything to keep you in the present moment to avoid distractions which can unsettle your flow and send you off the track.
Even when completing many, many laps, each is still a learning experience, there's always things you can improve on such as adjusting braking points, taking tighter lines and gaining more confidence through turns. Towards the end of the race it quickly descends into darkness which provides an extra challenge in terms of actually seeing brake markers and apexes.
Take a look at the footage below.
