News Project CARS 2 Spirit of Le Mans Pack adds nine legendary race cars

Last week, Polyphony Digital celebrated the 24 Hours of Le Mans by adding the Circuit de la Sarthe to Gran Turismo Sport. Continuing the Le Mans theme, Slightly Mad Studios has released a new Spirit of Le Mans Pack for Project CARS 2.

Following the release of the Fun Pack and Porsche Legends Pack, Slightly Mad Studios' third Project CARS 2 expansion adds nine legendary Le Mans race cars to the racing simulation's already-expansive car roster, including contemporary LMP1s and vintage prototypes.

As a tribute to Steve McQueen's notorious 1971 Le Mans film, the expansion includes the Porsche 917 and LH Ferrari 512S, which both featured prominently in the film. There's even a "painstakingly and faithfully recreated" version of the Le Sarthe Circuit as it appeared in the movie. 

In addition, the expansion includes two ultra-rare Le Mans racers: the 1980 Porsche 924 Carrera GTP (Porsche only built three of them) and the 1986 Porsche 961, the one-off Group C weapon that ran twice at Le Mans. Also included is the Audi R18, Porsche 919 and Toyota TS050 from the 2016 World Endurance Championship, as well as five new career events and ten unique liveries. 

The Spirit of Le Mans Pack is available as part of the Project CARS 2 season pass or can be purchased separately. Here's a breakdown of all the content included in the expansion:
