Nintendo Switch owners that were hoping for Slightly Mad Studios' Project CARS 2 to grace the upcoming console, following the disappointing scrapping of the original racer for the Wii U, will probably be out of luck.
The news was confirmed by Project CARS 2 Creative Director Andy Tudor who spoke recently with Red Bull. "In terms of Nintendo Switch, I can say probably that Project Cars franchise will not be coming to Nintendo Switch currently," said Tudor. "Similar to the Wii U, it looks amazing. I've held it in my hands, and the concept of taking it on the go, yeah, I totally agree: we're all gadget freaks, so we kind of want to, but equally I just don't think it's going to be possible."
One can imagine (judging by Slightly Mad Studios' experience with the Wii U) the reason for Project CARS 2 not coming to the Switch is because the hardware would probably not do the game justice and features would no doubt have to be cut to get the game to run at the required frame rate. Sometimes it's best to cut a platform out altogether in order to avoid releasing an inferior product, it's a tough decision no doubt but perhaps the correct one.
We recently caught up with Andy Tudor ourselves who answered our questions on the Project CARS sequel which you can see below.
