In a recently published developer blog, Kunos Simulazioni revealed that they are working on integrating the private lobby feature for the console versions of Assetto Corsa.

Silverstone wing podium Private lobbies are probably the most requested feature from fans and honestly, it was quick a shock when we realised the console versions launch without this must-have option. Indeed taking part in online races currently is rather chaotic with players crashing out left, right and centre.

Private lobbies will enable skilled players to race against fellow skilled racers eliminating much of the chaos as found with the public lobby system. Currently Kunos are not announcing any release windows for private lobbies but they do state that these features “take time” to implement.

The blog also confirmed that console players will soon be able to get their hands on some free content courtesy of the future v1.09 update. The first piece is the Porsche Panamera G2 Turbo, a decision which received lots of criticism recently, the second being a historic version of Silverstone.

Much like the private lobby feature, no release window has been announced for the free content however Kunos have stated that it is “just around the corner” so we won't have to wait long I'm sure.
