The public beta for Codemasters' upcoming racing game Onrush will officially launch next week on 17th May.
Open to users across the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, the beta test will officially launch at 2PM British Summertime on 17th May, and conclude on 10AM British Summertime on 21st May.
The upcoming Onrush open beta will allow users to try out a sizeable slice of content that'll appear in the full game. Two tracks (complete with different weather conditions and time-of-day variations) and a pair of game modes will be joined by 12 cars evenly distributed across Onrush's four vehicle classes.
A 6-player online multiplayer event known as "The Stampede" will also be open for Onrush open beta users to try out. Furthermore, the Onrush beta will contain an extensive tutorial mode, as well as the game's Photomode system during singleplayer events in the Onrush beta.
Though Onrush's open beta officially launches on 17th May, those who pre-order a digital copy of the game via the PlayStation Store will be able to access the beta from 15th May. UK users who pre-order Onrush through Amazon, GAME, Tesco and Smyths Toys will also be eligible for early beta access.
Onrush is still scheduled for a full release on 5th June on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. Developed by a predominantly ex-Evolution Studios team, Onrush is being touted as an "over-the-top arcade racing game" that (by defying genre tropes such as track positions and finish lines) provides a "fresh take on what it means to race".
