The Nürburgring-Nordschleife is regarded as one of the most challenging racing courses in the world. It's also a staple of many high profile console racing games such as Forza and Gran Turismo – and now it's coming to Assetto Corsa, one of the PC's most heralded racing simulators.
Developer Kunos Simulazioni claim that Assetto Corsa's recreation of the notorious Nürburgring will be "the most faithful virtual representation of the track ever to be released" based on their accurate laser-scanning technology.
This may hold true, as this will be the first time the Nürburgring has been properly laser-scanned for a racing game – a tall order, considering the Nordschleife track is 14 miles long. Whether we will see Turn10's laser-scanned version of the Nürburgring in Forza Motorsport 5 before Assetto Corsa reamins to be seen, however.
The Nürburgring will make its way into Assetto Corsa in September 2014, available as part of a "Dream Pack DLC" which will contain 10 community-chosen cars along with the Nordschleife. It will be available to preorder soon, with a 50% saving on the complete package.
